Spotted a hantavirus event we're missing, or an error in an existing record? Submit a correction or new event for review.
How submissions work
Every public submission lands in a moderation queue. We review tier-1 and tier-2 source claims within 24 hours and tier-3 within a week. Submissions that match an existing event update that record rather than creating a duplicate, so it is always safe to submit a partial update — we will reconcile.
Submissions are anonymous by default. You can optionally include a contact for follow-up but it is never displayed publicly.
What we accept
- New events with one or more cited sources (URL + publisher + access date)
- Updates to existing events — corrected case counts, new sources, status changes
- Pathogen species corrections (with a peer-reviewed or tier-1 source)
- Translations of existing summaries
- Errors of any kind
What we don't accept
- Predictions or modelling outputs (this site is a historical and current record only)
- Speculation without primary sourcing
- Pre-1993 events without species-level identification in the literature
- Personal exposure stories (please contact your national health authority instead)
