Summary
Two laboratory-confirmed Laguna Negra virus cases in Tarija Department, both fatal (100% case-fatality among confirmed). Seven additional suspected cases were ruled out. Bolivia's national surveillance reported 48 confirmed HPS cases with 15 deaths in 2025; the Tarija cluster is the first confirmed hantavirus death of 2026.
